The Swiss historian and peace researcher Dr. Daniele Ganser spoke on November 3, 2018 in Basel on the subject of war criminals. Ganser relies on the UN prohibition of violence, which clearly prohibits wars since 1945, and says: All UN members refrain from any threat or use of force in their international relations. Anyone who violates the violence prohibition and conducts a war of aggression is a war criminal. In his lecture, Ganser includes among the war criminals Adolf Hitler for his attack on Poland in 1939. Mao Zedong for his attack on Tibet in 1950. Winston Churchill for his attack on Iran in 1953. Dwight Eisenhower for his attack on Cuba in 1961. Lyndon Johnson for his attack on Vietnam in 1964. Leonid Brezhnev for his attack on Afghanistan in 1979. Saddam Hussein for his attack on Kuwait in 1990. Bill Clinton for his attack on Serbia in 1999. George W. Bush for his attack on Iraq in 2003. Barack Obama for his attack on Syria in 2014. Donald Trump for his attack on Syria in 2017. Emmanuel Macron for his attack on Syria in 2018. Daniele Ganser calls in his concluding words to strengthen mindfulness and respect the UN ban on violence.
