WHAT’S GOIN’ ON, HEADBANGERS!?!?! I would like to start by saying before this show kicks off that it has been one helluva year at SGT Rock’s Headbangers Ball up here on Freedom Hill, broadcasting at 150,000 Watts of pure, unadulterated Heavy Metal power.

Being from Minnesota, some kids, me included, learned how to ice skate before we could walk. Hockey is HUGE in Minnesota! We’re known as “The State of Hockey”. Minnesota has produced more American NHL Hockey Players than any state in the Republic! That’s a pretty cool record to have. As a kid, we’d watch hockey, play hockey, go to Minnesota Fighting Saints and Minnesota North Star Games, Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey Games, and the Minnesota Hight School State Hockey Tournament. The best High School Hockey in the world. Hands down. At one time, we even had a feeder team for the NHL called the Minnesota Moose who have since left Minnesota and moved to Manitoba. That’s a lot of hockey.

Then I had to go and join the United States Army, leaving my multiple hockey seasons behind, ah, that’s okay. I had NHL Magazine. Hockey Magazine and Sports Illustrated (when their swimsuit edition mattered) to name a few. We only had on TV Station in the barracks and on base housing. Hockey when I was younger, was a passion. And it still is today.

One of the worst days of my life is when the Minnesota North Stars, in 1981, lost in game five to the New York Islanders. Then…THEN…I was in the Army at this time, In the ‘90–‘91 season, with losing record during the regular season, they made a “Cinderella” run, only to lose in six games to Mario Lemieux and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Oh, I was volatile to be around after that. They played so well in the beginning and fell apart. Then they ended up moving to Dallas, thank you Norm Greene, you fuckin’ asshole. If hell deserved a new resident, it was you. Ya fuckin asshole. ButI’mnotbitter….

And here I am, a Minnesota Wild. 24 years later. No Cup. The Legacy of Failure continues. The Wild continue to be a farm team of the champions. Well, at least the 80s era Twins pulled through. Yet I digress….

And here we are in June. This show will air near the end of Eastern Conference and Western Conference Final. I’m still the same NHL fan I was as a kid. The only team in the running that sits in my Top 5 NHL teams still surviving is the New York Rangers. I can still remember those days in the 90s with my Army Brother from Another Mother, rooting for our favorite teams. And the Rangers lifted Lord Stanley’s Cup, and all was well in the world. Then Dallas wins a cup and I’m thinking to myself, “Fuck, that should be in Minnesota, not fuckin Texas!” So, enough hockey talk. This week’s show is great. We’ve put together a show you can play at playoff parties, and we hope you invite us into your party space. Drop us a Follow, Comment, Like, and Share. The most important thing we want to do is let other Headbangers and Headbanger Hockey Fans know is that in the second decade of the new millennium that an Army Veteran who loves the family tree of Heavy Metal has created a new brand of show that reminds us of a show that MTV used to show on Saturday Nights to millions of headbangers. That show is long gone! And man was it great when it ran. Both times. Since MTV is now a woke social indoctrination channel, my show, doesn’t do that. I just play what I think is great music you the headbanger will really enjoy. All eras, old and new. SGT Rock’s Headbangers Ball isn’t just a show; it’s a rite of passage for those who find solace in the heavy metal’s cathartic embrace, a sonic call to the headbangers, the moshers, and the fist-raisers. Keep your horns held high and that volume knob cranked to 11! This is YOUR…Headbangers Ball!
