Kaia Brewer is making a difference in the lives of children with Cystic Fibrosis. Kaia had Cystic Fibrosis until her double-lung transplant 18-months ago. With her new lungs, Kaia is able to breathe normally and doesn’t get tired. Even though Kaia is realizing her dreams in life, she still has a passion to help other children living with Cystic Fibrosis. She understands what they are experiencing and has become a mentor. One of her mentees is Cristabel, a student in Topeka facing the daily challenges of Cystic Fibrosis. Kaia uses FaceTime to connect with Cristabel. Here is an excerpt of some of their conversation—and Cristabel’s comments about Kaia being her mentor.
