Six NATO countries announce border defense plan

Six NATO countries bordering Russia, including Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Finland, and Norway, are collaborating to create a “drone wall” for border protection, announced Lithuania’s Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite.

This initiative will use drones and advanced technologies alongside physical infrastructure to guard against provocations and smuggling.

While specifics on funding, timeline, and technical details were not provided, EU funds may contribute, and each country must prepare individually.

Finland’s Interior Minister, Mari Rantanen, indicated that the plan would evolve over time, noting Finland’s significant 832-mile border with Russia, CNBC reported.
