A dedicated Marine, Tyler describes the run-up to his deployment to Afghanistan, where he and his comrades were sent to help with the draw-down. Tyler reveals the harsh realities they faced, including failed leadership and the horrors unfolding before their eyes.

One incident in particular stands out, when they received a positive identification of a suicide bomber who matched the intelligence they had received. But they were let down, tragically resulting in the loss of 13 service members, 170 Afghans and many wounded. Tyler himself came close to becoming the 14th victim of this heartbreaking tragedy, but the miracles he shares are what ultimately kept him alive, along with his exceptional physical fitness.
