Wisdom - Part 29

The lesson taught on May 26, 2024 was part 29 of the “Wisdom” study. We are in Proverbs 28 and Wayne took a few minutes to recap what we learned in the previous lesson then opened up with a verse by verse approach again. We looked at Proverbs 28:1 saying “1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.” The guilty are always watching their back and fleeing just because they are avoiding those that may be in pursuit. Conversely, the righteous are like a lion. There is strength in truth. Even though a lion may appear to be lazy, when it comes time for setting things straight, watch out. When a country transgresses, it is from poor leadership over time. Great leadership makes a country have staying power. Poor leadership is like poor nourishment that is whey they praise the wicked. Those that keep the law contend with them. They that seek the Lord, understand “all things”, particularly the general rules on how to govern. Just like on a Air Craft carrier, it is governed by a set of laws and principles that those who are onboard have to follow for it to run smoothly.

The scripture reading was from Matthew 23:23,24 KJV “23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. 24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.”
