In this 1938 black and white film, Rogers, the son of an ex-Congressman, is elected to Congress and heads to Washington to challenge a monopolistic water power company responsible for parching his district. With the unexpected help of Carol Hughes, the daughter of the water company president, Rogers stages a creative western party showcasing newsreels of the drought-stricken area. This bold move prompts a congressional committee to investigate the situation firsthand. In a thrilling climax, Rogers heroically leaps from a galloping horse to stop a dynamite-laden wagon from destroying a dam, saving both the officials and Carol.
