FOUR HORSE TEAM, by Yona Aniwodi,
May 24, 2024

Amish straw hat balanced upon a beam,
Turning the ground with a four horse team.
Glacially flattened plains all about,
Sixty-Eight the number, south bound the route.

Higher the Yona, fruitier the Lume,
Ever the stona, escaping all the doom.
Kinder the bud, and better the price.
Take more deep breath, so bought it twice.

Covering quickly, straight down that ground.
London town bound, 'til two-oh-seven found.
At last the one-oh-four and the Scioto shore.
Ramp to eight-twenty-three, pedal to the floor.

Iron masterpiece, river so strongly spanned.
Waiting line of tugboats at Greenup lock and dam.
There above Lloyd, where ropes are deployed.
If Hanging Rock could only talk, heavens to mergatroid.

Merciful the scene, twin bridges, blue and green.
Double stack train, mutli-engine, four horse team.
Past the barge works of ol' Sheridan.
Land between great lakes, up there and back again.

Remembering windmills, power lines, and towers.
Four lanes and heart pains, passing all the hours.
Strange Michigan dream, the crop's rising cream.
Straw hat on my head, driving the four horse team.
