Unknown Explosions heard in STL, MO.

Sunday, 26MAY2024 beginning at approx 2115h and ongoing through this posting 30 minutes later, at least 8 distinct groupings of about 10 large "explosions" heard in southside of City of St. Louis, estimated to be in the area between Highways 40&44 and Kingshighway & Hampton... Or further north, based on light flashes observed which if made by the explosions were visible 1-2 seconds before the sound arrived. The earlier sets were followed by what sounded like volleys of rifle fire.
Military aircraft (dual engine fighter, maybe f15) observed making three passes on a circular route above my observation point and headed back towards incident, low and slow.
No large response of sirens audible.
Explosions continue as more regular single reports, without any subsequent small arms heard.
