Honoring Patriotic Veteran Ashli Babbitt: Her Mother Speaks Out

In 2004, at age 17, Ashli Babbitt enlisted in the United States Air Force, where she served 12 years. Babbitt was deployed at least eight times by 2014, including in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, and Qatar. From 2010 onward, she served in the Air National Guard. Six of her years in service were spent in a "Capital Guardians" unit of the District of Columbia Air National Guard, whose mandate is to defend the Washington D.C. region and quell civil unrest. In 2014 Babbitt served as a "mentor" to less-experienced airmen about to go on their first deployment. She reached the rank of senior airman.

Ashli was gunned down in cold blood at the Capitol after delivering a left hook to the jaw of an inside actor who was breaking a window inside the Capitol. She screamed to the unresponsive officers who just stood to call in support and do something. Apparently, realizing something was up, and surrounded by bad actors, she climbed through the window to get away from the press of the crowd.

She was gunned down at point blank range with no warning by a masked officer who was shielded by the Feds and to this day lives under a serious cloud of suspicion. Ashli fell backwards to the ground while the officers stood there watching her bleed to death.

Our government not only took her life but they failed to honor her service, denigrated her name and didn't have the decency to give her a soldier's burial.

We honor Ashli for who she was: a Patriot who loved and served her country.
