Phone Scam Alert: Fake Amazon Fraud Call

In this video, I expose a phone scammer pretending to be from Amazon's fraud department. Watch as I receive a call from a man with an Indian accent who identifies himself as John Wilson. He claims that someone named Nancy Brown is accessing my Amazon account and making suspicious purchases. To help secure my account, he instructs me to download a remote software tool called Iperius Remote.

As the scam unfolds, the scammer tries to convince me that hackers are on my network and that I should only use my computer, which he claims is connected to Amazon’s secure server. He even attempts to get me to download Iperius Remote on my cell phone to access everything on it. However, I make up an excuse to avoid this and watch as the scammer improvises his tactics.

I decide to play along and pull up a fake bank page to see if he will attempt a Zelle transfer. Sure enough, he falls for it. The scammer instructs me to download another remote software, ScreenConnect, and tries to obscure my screen with the infamous blue screen. Thinking I can't see his actions, he attempts a $997 Zelle transfer, but I quickly gather the information and report it.

Throughout the call, the scammer feeds me a confusing mix of lies and technical jargon, making it clear he's not very experienced. This two-hour call is filled with his desperate attempts to execute his poorly planned scam.
