A small Greek resort with about 3000 inhabitants located in northwestern Greece between Igoumenitsa and Parga. Also known as the "Caribbean of the Ionian Sea" Sivota is tucked away and located in a beautiful small bay with an archipelago of several smaller islands opposite the Ionian Islands Paxos, Antipaxos I Corfu. Until World War II, the small fishing village was called Murtos when it received its current name, and get name by the battle that took place here around 433 BC. "Battle of Sibota". The first associations on Sivota are very lush vegetation and greenery on one side and a specific combination of water colors for this part of the Ionian Sea. This place does not seem to me for fans of good nightlife because it does not have any bar of that type or nightclub, but if you are a fan of evening walks with the sound of the sea and the sound of Greek music, then Sivota is the right place for you.You will be able to find everything you may need during your summer vacation in Sivota, as follows:There are several smaller supermarkets that are well equipped so you will not miss large markets. If you still can't do without them, the nearest is Lidl about 25 km away in Igoumenitsa. A large number of souvenir shops, stores, cafes, taverns with a diverse offer of Greek traditional food .Of course, there is an unavoidable gyros. There is a doctor's office in Sivota where they accept certificates from insurance companies from Serbia, but also a well-stocked pharmacy for cases of unwanted scenarios on vacation. Those whose child did not scream for buying an extra toy or another token for the game do not understand the importance of such parks for children in summer resorts. Sivota is another place on the list that has a very nice park for children in the central part, where we parents can also take a break while the children have fun. And for the most persistent children… Since the largest number of Serbs celebrate this very holiday, check the tour of the Church of St. Nicholas in the place itself.Upon arrival in Sivoto, you saw that there are several good gas stations, but also at the exit from Sivota on the way to Parga, you have a gas station if you run out of fuel. There is no LPG, so all those who consume this type of fuel should fill the tank 29 km before Sivota upon arrival. You can complete your summer vacation in Sivota by visiting nearby Parga, which is about 25 km away, or go by boat to all the attractive beaches in the area. Renting smaller boats for 5-6 people for which you do not need special permits and which you drive yourself will cost you… In season you will be able to rent kayaks that you can visit these surrounding, smaller islands and several exceptional bays. Even one cave. There is a boat that makes a circle around the island and Sivota, but also taxi boats that will take you to the desired beach and return by appointment. A special attraction are trips to the fairytale islands of Paxos and Antipaxos, a day trip to Corfu or the river Acheron, but you will probably need more than one summer vacation for all that. One of the specifics of Sivota is the train that goes south to the beach of Agia Paraskevi, but it also stops at all the beaches along the way. The price to the farthest is 4 euros in one direction, while to the closer one 2.5 euros. The train from Sivota departs at 10:30 am and returns in the afternoon at 6 pm. Sivota does not have a local market, but for all of us who enjoy this Greek custom to close certain streets once a week and bring out the most beautiful local products, there is the place Perdika, about 15 km from Sivota, where the local market is every Thursday. What distinguishes it from the previous ones we visited is that it takes place in the afternoon.Perdika is a large and picturesque village with about 2000 inhabitants. Literally translated from Greek, the village would be called "partridge" because they say that from a height the shape resembles this bird. The center of the village is a pedestrian zone with several taverns, a bakery, a pharmacy and a well-stocked market. Perdika is at 250m above sea level, so a large number of tourists gather around the monument to the discus thrower, which offers an incredible view. Perdika also has a museum of folk art and if you happen to be here in the first half of August you will be able to attend a festival of folk music and traditions and outdoor performances....
