A Massive solar farm being built in Muskegon County could power 40,000 homes.

Construction has already begun for the 1,900-acre solar farm development by Consumers Energy at the Muskegon County Resource Recovery Center, the county’s wastewater plant in Moorland Township. The project is expected to cost approximately $350 million and will employ about 200 construction jobs over the next two years, with the solar facility officially operating in 2026.
