Fatal stage collapse during political rally caught on camera

A political rally in northern Mexico ended in devastation due to a freak accident in which the stage collapsed due to high winds. A huge gust of wind brought the enormous stage, lights, rigging and all, crashing to the ground, sending people flying as others scrambled to safety.

In attendance at Wednesday night's rally was presidential candidate Jorge Álvarez Máynez, who later posted that he had been taken to a nearby hospital, and confirmed that there had been several fatalities. At least nine people are known to have been killed, and at least 50 injured. Álvarez Máynez later said he was suspending all campaign activities following the collapse and that an investigation into the incident would take place.
