On February 3, 2024, a Columbia County Sheriff's deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle due to an equipment violation in Fall River, WI. When deputies tried to open his door, he fled the scene at high speed, resulting in a crash. K9 Rico was then unleashed and embraced the driver, offering a discomforting hug. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies discovered drug paraphernalia and large quantities of marijuana.
