I am Sitalces, King of the Thracians, and today, I will recount the story of my reign and my efforts to shape the history of my people and the wider ancient world.

I ascended to the throne of the Odrysian Kingdom in 431 BCE, a time of great turbulence and opportunity. My kingdom, located in what is now modern-day Bulgaria, was one of the most powerful and influential in the Thracian region. This internal stability was crucial for our external military successes and ensured that the Odrysian Kingdom remained a formidable power.

My efforts laid the groundwork for a Thracian society that was both prosperous and respected.
