The UK government will set out details of the infectedblood compensation scheme on Tuesday.

30,000 people were infected with hepatitis and HIVwhile receiving NHS treatment between the 1970s and1990s - and 3,000 have since died.

On Monday, a public inquiry said victims wererepeatedly failed, with evidence of a cover-up.

Roger Newman, who discovered he was infected withHIV and hepatitis C as a teenager, said, "We were alsoall so aware of so many that couldn't be there becausethey were either too ill or already passed away."
