Francis Scott Key & the Star Spangled Banner

Washington D.C. had been burned by the British and Baltimore was about to be attacked. Fort McHenry was the last defense against the British as they tried to over-run the people of Baltimore. The battle of Fort McHenry inspired Francis Scott Key to write the Star Spangled Banner.
