Russian troops have begun the first stage of exercises to test the preparation and use of non-strategic nuclear weapons, the Ministry of Defense reports

As part of this stage, missile formations practice the task of obtaining special ammunition for the Iskander complex, equipping missiles with them, and covertly advancing to the position area in preparation for launches.

Previously, the department reported that Russia would conduct exercises in response to threats from Western officials. For example, British Foreign Minister David Cameron said in early May that Ukraine could use British weapons on Russian territory.
