“China not only has the biggest navy in the world… they’ve been designing a [rocket] force exquisitely over the last 20 years so as to push us out of the region.” — former Select Committee on the CCP Chairman Mike Gallagher. In addition to its third aircraft carrier undergoing sea trials, China has also silently unveiled a groundbreaking development in naval technology: the world's first dedicated drone carrier as it looks to the future of naval aviation. In breaking news just yesterday U.S. officials are privately delivering an unusual warning to telecommunications companies: Undersea cables that ferry internet traffic across the Pacific Ocean could be vulnerable to tampering by Chinese repair ships. State Department officials said a state-controlled Chinese company that helps repair international cables, S.B. Submarine Systems, appeared to be hiding its vessels’ locations from radio and satellite tracking services, which the officials and others said defied easy explanation. China has also become the number one shipbuilding country, and this has raised concerns within the US Navy. Now, the US Navy is seeking cooperation from Japan and South Korea to enhance its naval capabilities in response to China's rapid naval expansion. My guest today is David Pyne, Executive Vice President, Task Force on National & Homeland Security; former US Army HQ Staff Officer and National Security Expert.
