Our true crime story today unfolds in the warm, vibrant community of Mandarin, Florida, where Lee Rodarte and Savannah Gold worked together at a local Bonefish Grill. Rodarte was a manager at the establishment, while Gold was one of the staff. The two had an on-and-off relationship, which was known to some of their colleagues.

Everything seemed normal, except on a fateful evening in August 2017, the ordinary routine of the restaurant was shattered by a sinister act that took place in its parking lot. The relationship between Rodarte and Gold apparently reached a peak of disagreement, leading to a confrontation that ended in tragedy. Rodarte took the life of Savannah Gold, a fact that would later haunt the community and lead to a quest for justice. But before we go further, let’s back up a bit.

Savannah Gold, a lively and sporty young woman, hailed from a loving family in Florida. During high school, she was an active participant in lacrosse and had a passion for dancing. Her engaging personality and love for sports made her a well-loved figure among her peers. The number 21 held a special significance in Savannah's life, a number she proudly wore during her sports activities, and a number that marked her age when tragedy struck.

She worked as a waitress at the Bonefish Grill on San Jose Blvd in Jacksonville, a job she was very dedicated to. On the ill-fated evening of August 2, 2017, Savannah left her parents' home around 5:15 pm, and headed for her shift at the said restaurant. Dressed in her usual work attire of black shoes, black trousers, and a white chef jacket, she was ready for another day at work. Little did she know, it would be a day that would change the lives of many, forever​​.
