Hot & Loud 3090 TI! Fixed!

My 3090 Ti that I handed down to my daughter has been running the fans at 100% after just a few mins of game for a while now. Recently however, her PC has started to crash with a black screen requiring it to be turned off to restore operation. This prompted further investigation, after which I was able to determine what the problem was and fix it.
