Space Defense, The Ballad of Sarah

A variation of The Ballad of Sarah and James.

The song tells the story of a fighter pilot on one of the defensive stations around the solar system to protect humans from alien abductions and killings. It starts with him dreaming of his fiance, Sarah. He plans to resign his commission once they get married so they can live together back on Earth. The Klaxon awakes him to scramble and stop another alien attack. The ship the aliens hit this time was the one carrying his fiance (among others) to come visit the station. The aliens have been taking females and killing the males for some reason. He is distraught and he turns his despair to anger to fuel his desire to stop the aliens. He does numerous interceptions after Sarah's abduction and his heart grows more determined each time. In his last interception, he does an extended combat with an alien ship and his weapons run out of ammo. Not wanting them to escape, he charges at the alien ship to ram them and end his life, joining with Sarah's spirit as the war rages ever onward.
