Trimming Nutmeg's hooves 18 May 2024

Training horses always involves some risk of injury (or even death) to the horse, the trainer, any spectators, equipment used, etc. - this risk is totally your own as you will be making your own judgements on what to do. Nutmeg, the 3yr old Gypsy Vanner filly arrived not quite 24 hours before this video was recorded. Per her owner she had only ever had her hooves trimmed in stocks by the Amish. He told me she definitely needed her hooves trimmed but he did not know how she would stand when not in the stocks. This video is raw and uncut showing the entire train and trim session starting from after I grabbed my farrier tools until the last hoof was trimmed. All the goofing around she did (never anything big and violent) made it take 2-3 times as long as it would have taken had she stood perfectly still and cooperatively. Remember to intentionally, on purpose, learn of God each day by prayerfully reading, studying, and pondering upon God's word each day. Talk to God in prayer as your Heavenly Father who would like for you to be His friend. Find out what He would like you to do for Him as His friend and go and do it for Him as His friend.
