That '90s Show season 2 will be split into two eight-episode parts, with the first releasing on June 27.
After a year of keeping viewers waiting, the first That '90s Show season 2 trailer is here. Acting as a sequel to the beloved That '70s Show, the Netflix title revolves around the kids of the original teenage characters, Leia Forman and Jay Kelso, and their friends Nate, Gwen, Ozzie and Nikki during their summer vacations, in which Leia spends with her grandparents, Kitty and Red. Season 2 will see Leia return to her grandparents' place and navigating the tricky relationship tightrope between Nate and Jay after nearly kissing the former while dating the latter, putting the whole group's friendship at stake.

As part of the streamer's Netflix Is A Joke Fest, Netflix has unveiled the first That '90s Show season 2 trailer.

The video, as seen above, opens with Gwen, Jay and Kitty all arguing about who gets the first hug from Leia when she arrives, only for Red to surprise the group at the front door by having gotten it. The trailer then goes on to highlight the new and returning faces the rest of the season will feature, including returning '70s Show stars Tommy Chong, Don Stark, Laura Prepon and Seth Green, as well as new guest stars Lisa Loeb, Kadeem Hardison, Matt Rife, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes.

That '90s Show Season 2 Is Taking Full Advantage Of Its Bigger Episode Count
With the first season not only seeing strong reviews from critics, but also a solid viewership haul for the streamer, Netflix is looking to build on this success with That '90s Show season 2 being even bigger than the first, being split into two eight-episode parts rather than one 10-episode season. While casting details for season 2 have remained largely under wraps, the few confirmations known thus far have included Seth Green reprising his role of Mitch from That '70s Show, while original stars Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis announced they wouldn't be back.

That ‘90s Show season 1 introduces a new generation of teens to Kitty and Red’s basement, and season 2 must bring further depth to the gang.

As revealed by That '90s Show season 2's trailer, the creative team behind the show are taking full advantage of their bigger episode count to deliver a crazier season full of familiar faces. Beyond Green, the trailer confirms that both Stark and Chong will be reprising their roles of Leo and Bob after having recurring roles in season 1, while Prepon will also be back as Donna. One of the more interesting season 2 guest stars shown in the trailer is Wayne Knight, who had previously appeared in season 4 of the original show, but it's unclear if he's reprising his role.

Hello yet again, Wisconsin! It's been over a year since we said goodbye to the new generation of Point Place teens, but fortunately, we won't have to wait much longer to head back into the Forman basement with the rest of the gang for That '90s Show Season 2. Netflix announced today that Season 2 will release in two parts, the first on June 27, followed by the second on October 24. Accompanying news of the two-part release was the first trailer for the season, giving us a sneak peek at what to expect when Leia (Callie Haverda) comes back to visit Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) for the summer.

The trailer opens with Kitty, Gwen (Ashley Aufderhide) and Jay (Mace Coronel) arguing over who gets to hug Leia first when she arrives, only for Red to beat all three of them to it. Also here, and ready for a summer of fun are the rest of the gang — Ozzie (Reyn Doi), Nate (Mason Acee Donovan) and Nikki (Sam Morelos). While it all seems like classic fun in the style of the first season, the massive cliffhanger we left off on will no doubt be hanging over everyone's heads, even as they try to pick up where they left off.

The official synopsis for the first part of Season 2 teases a lot of friendship and relationship drama to come for the gang, reading:

Who Else Is in 'That '90s Show' Season 2?

Season 2 will see the return of That '70s Show star Laura Prepon as Leia's mom Donna, and Andrea Anders as Nate and Gwen's mom, as well as special guest stars Don Stark and Tommy Chong who played Bob and Leo on the original series. Also appearing are special guest stars Will Forte, Seth Green, Lisa Loeb, Carmen Electra, Wayne Knight, Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Matt Rife and Kadeem Hardison. There's no word yet on whether other stars from the original series will appear, though at this stage it doesn't seem likely.

Rounding out the big announcements from Netflix is a Joke Festival throughout the past week or so; That 90s Show delivered the news that it’ll be following in several other titles’ footsteps in releasing in two parts, with the first coming next month. We also got some first looks at the new season and a rundown of which guest stars will appear.

In case you missed it, 400 comedians have been showcased at Netflix’s huge Netflix is a Joke Festival that’s played throughout Los Angeles and while we’ve got to experience some of the festival in our living rooms via live streams, we’ve also been given some big news regarding big upcoming comedy series.

Today, we got a big unveil for That 90s Show which was renewed for a bumper second season last year. Earlier this year we were told that the series would be released in the Summer of 2024 but now Netflix has confirmed it’ll be released in two parts:

Part 2 of That 90s Show will premiere on June 27th, 2024
Part 3 will premiere on October 24th, 2024
The new trailer features clips from the forthcoming season, all soundtracked by the timeless 90s rock classic My Own Worst Enemy by Lit.

In addition, Netflix has provided an updated synopsis of the multicam sitcom that’s been filming throughout the early parts of 2024 with filming having wrapped just recently:

“It’s 1996 and Leia Forman is back in Point Place for another summer of fun with her friends and grandparents, Kitty and Red. Leia and Jay are excited to be together again after nine months of long distance. But she’s on edge since Jay still doesn’t know she almost kissed Nate. Nate is concerned that his girlfriend, Nikki, doesn’t know either. How long can they keep this secret? Turns out, not long at all. And when the truth finally comes out, relationships are threatened, friendships are at stake, and the summer is on the verge of ending before it even gets started.”

The show will follow a split release that’s become pretty common on Netflix. We’ve gone into detail more on why so many shows, particularly at the moment, are getting split releases here, but throughout the Netflix is a Joke festival alone, we got word that Cobra Kai and Emily in Paris will both be split up in their new seasons.

The first season finale ended on a cute cliffhanger, and fans of the sitcom are eager to finally see the show's sophomore season. Not only are the Part 2 episodes returning in June but there will also be a Part 3 coming in October. The news was released during the "Clash Of The Netflix Casts" event during Netflix is a Joke Fest.

That '90s Show's second season will see the return of stars Kurtwood Smith, Debra Jo Rupp, Callie Haverda, Ashley Aufderheide, Mace Coronel, Maxwell Acee Donovan, Reyn Doi, and Sam Morelos. What Happened To Kelso's Daughter?
That '90s Show revealed where almost everybody from That '70s Show ended up. However, there are a few exceptions. The show doesn't address the absence of Danny Masterson's Hyde, and there's no mention of Eric Forman's (Topher Grace) sister Laurie (Lisa Robin Kelly, Christina Moore) or the final season's controversial addition, Randy Pearson (Josh Myers). While most fans of the original sitcom don't seem too bothered that these characters aren't mentioned, there is another person from the original series that fans want to know about...

In the sixth season of That '70s Show, it was revealed that Kelso (Kitcher) was going to have a baby with Brooke (Shannon Elizabeth). Eventually, Brooke moved to Chicago with the baby, and Kelso followed them in the final season. In That '90s Show, Kelso and Jackie (Kunis) have a son, but there is no mention of his daughter, Betsy. Fans are hoping the show's second season addresses Kelso's older child.
That '90s Show Season 2 is just a few weeks away! Netflix dropped a teaser trailer for the sitcom's 16-episode second season, which will release in two parts. You'll be able to visit Point Place, Wisconsin, again on June 27 when That '90s Show Part 2 drops on Netflix. Part 3 (the second half of Season 2) will release on Oct. 24.

In the trailer, we don't get much plot, despite that big romantic cliffhanger at the end of Season 1. Instead, we just see Leia Forman arriving back at her grandparents' house for a visit. Kitty Forman (Debra Jo Rupp), Red Forman (Kurtwood Smith), Gwen Runck (Ashley Aufderheide) and Jay Kelso (Mace Coronel) are there to greet her.

The rest of the teaser is a montage of out-of-context moments, but we see some returning That '70s Show favorites, including Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon), Bob Pinciotti (Don Stark), Leo Chingkwake (Tommy Chong) and — is his first addition to the sequel series — Mitch Miller (Seth Green).

Several new characters are shown, played by a star-studded list of actors. Carmen Electra, Matt Rife, Will Forte, Kevin Smith, Wayne Knight, Lisa Loeb and Jason Mewes are among the new faces.

Despite appearing in That '90s Show Season 1, it's unclear if Eric Forman (Topher Grace) and Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) will pop up in the new episodes. Michael Kelso (Ashton Kutcher) and Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis) will not appear in Season 2.
