Five of the seven illegals accused of assaulting two NYC police officers in Times Square have been offered plea deals that would lead to some serving less than a year in jail. The Venezuelans were charged with second-degree assault and obstruction of government administration after the brutal attack on January 27. The Manhattan District Attorney's office offered Bohorquez, Brito, and Gomez-Izquie; a one-year prison sentence in exchange for pleading guilty to second-degree assault. Arocha and Juarez were offered to serve six months in prison for pleading guilty to obstructing government administration. Vegas and Reveron have not been offered any deals at this moment. The defense attorneys haven't agreed to the offers. Judge Wood ordered them to return to court on June 18 to set a trial date if no agreement is reached.
