The U.S. says it would be a mistake if Israel launched a large-scale military operation in Rafah.

"We still believe it is would be a mistake to launch a major military operation into the heart of Rafah," U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said during a briefing on Monday.

President Biden has in recent days warned Israel against incurring into the southern Gaza city, threatening to halt munitions shipments if an invasion commences.

LiveNOW's Andrew Craft spoke about the United States' relationship with Israel with former Marine Corps intelligence officer Hal Kempfer.

The war in Gaza has driven around 80% of the territory's population of 2.3 million from their homes and caused vast destruction throughout several cities.
