A cargo ship collision with the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore caused its collapse, resulting in six deaths.

The bridge demolition on Monday, delayed by weather, aimed to clear debris and enable shipping to resume.

Precision cuts were made to free the Dali, the ship involved, for its return to the Port of Baltimore.

The port, vital for various goods including cars, had been partially closed since the incident. Efforts are underway to restore full capacity by the end of May.

Rebuilding the bridge is estimated to take over four years and cost up to $1.9 billion, the BBC has reported.
