Peter Jackson Returns to Middle Earth For NEW Lord of the Rings Movies!

Peter Jackson is officially returning to the work of J.R.R. Tolkien and tell more tales from Middle Earth, starting with The Hunt For Gollum, which will star and be directed by the great Andy Serkis.

Unlike the failed Hobbit trilogy, this multi-part deal appears to have afforded time to plan for Jackson and crew, but one question hangs over all of this: are these stories necessary?

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is the greatest story every committed to film. What made that series so great was the greatest confluence of talent the world had ever seen and trying to chase that high once more is a fool's errand. Is it doomed to fail? Absolutely not. Will it yield the same results in 2026 it did 25 years prior? Only time will tell...
