Transgender Athlete Ban in a Long Island County Is Struck Down in Court.
Judge Francis Ricigliano ruled that the Nassau County executive did not have the authority to ban transgender women from playing on women’s sports teams in county-owned facilities, and that decision should be made by the legislature and not a concerned county employee. The executive, Bruce Blakeman, said he would appeal.
