Bloomington attempted murder suspect dies of self-inflected wounds after fleeing police

Police say a Bloomington man wanted for attempted murder has died of self-inflicted injuries sustained while fleeing arrest. Brandon Michael Richardson, 34, was being sought by police after a woman arrived at Monroe Hospital on Wednesday with severe injuries she said were caused by Richardson. The woman told police Richardson had repeatedly beaten her with his hands and feet, as well as a metal bar, and that he kept her confined for days in a room with a dog leash around her neck. The woman was eventually able to escape after Richardson left the house.
