Hi Folks,

In this video I show you how to clean the washing machine filter. It is an easy task that often gets overlooked. It doesn't take long at all. When I cleaned the filter in this video it took me about 20 minutes.

The first step is to locate where the filter is on your washing machine. This is usually on the front near the ground on a front loading washing machine.

If it is not here on your washing machine you will want to consult the manual. Once you find the filter on your model the process of cleaning it is usually the same as what is shown in this video.

You want to drain the residual water out first by using the hose that is attached nearby. Place the end of the hose in a shallow bin, and let the water drain out. Dump the water down the drain or in a toilet.

when you dump the water you want to make sure you keep the hose elevated. There may be more water in the line that will try draining out, and you don't want to get it on the floor.

Once you have drained all the water out you want to make sure the cap is placed back on the end of the tube. Double check that it's secure because if it comes loose it will flood your floor the next time you do laundry.

After this part is done you can remove the filter. This is a knob that is near the tube you just leaked. Turn it to the left (counterclockwise) and take it out. Take this to a sink to clean it.

You may want to use a tray to carry this to a sink. It's probably going to drip and the water is pretty nasty.

There also may be a tangle of hair stuck in the filter. This can be pulled or cut out.

After this is cleaned off you can put it back. Turn it to the right to lock it in place.

Close the door and you are finished.

Congratulation!
