Silk is derived by the torturous destruction of butterfly larvae and wool is not always obtained by ethical methods of shearing sheep.
You can watch the videos of sheep left bleeding with deep cuts after the rushed and violent shearing of sheep on Bitchute or other video sites.

That said, one can shear their sheep gently, and without cuts if patient and loving (the sheep must be sheared or their fur cut off in the summer months, so they don't suffer from heat and get matted fur. Only industrial and quick methods are harmful and traumatizing for the gentle animals.
The wool can be spun by you or used for duvets. Like our forebearers did in their own farms.
