President Xi Jinping has arrived in Serbia, as theEuropean country strengthens its political and economic ties with China.

Red flags lined the route from Belgrade's Nikola TeslaAirport and ran all the way along the motorway into thecentre of the capital - Serbia's way of showing that it isproud of its "ironclad friendship" with China.

While it is not often that Serbia finds itself on the travelitinerary of such stature, Serbia has been deepeningits relationship with China in recent years, while itcontinues with negotiations to join the European Union.
