In a tragic incident on Sunday afternoon, 31-year-old Denzel Branch was fatally shot following a verbal altercation with 30-year-old Joshua Andrews on 56th Street in southeast Oak Cliff, according to Dallas police investigators. The altercation, reportedly stemming from a romantic relationship between Andrews and Branch's ex-wife, escalated into a physical confrontation. A witness recounted to authorities that Branch struck Andrews through the open window of Andrews' vehicle before Andrews allegedly retrieved a black pistol and fired multiple shots at Branch. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Branch succumbed to his injuries. Andrews, who initially fled the scene, later surrendered to authorities. In an arrest affidavit, Andrews confessed to intentionally shooting Branch and expressed regret for his actions. Branch, a youth pastor at New Generation Church, was mourned by the community, with the church issuing a statement expressing profound sadness over the tragedy.
