Today, "The Brain" Brian Jarboe returns for episode #2 of Picking The Brain making a key for a 69 Cougar.

Built on the same platform as the Ford Mustang as a "pony car", the 1969 Mercury Cougar is one of, if not the, definitive vehicle produced by Ford under the Mercury name. This vehicle follows Ford standards at the time, using the same key system as its more well-known cousin.

Our customer brought in a door and ignition cylinder without the key to see if Guardian Safe & Lock could create one that worked them. Brian, "The Brain", was able to disassemble the cylinder after picking and produce a key that not only worked one lock cylinder, but both of them!
