Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard are going back to camp together.

PEOPLE has the exclusive first trailer for the comedy Summer Camp, starring the trio of actresses in a cast that also includes Dennis Haysbert, Eugene Levy, Josh Peck, Nicole Richie, Betsy Sodaro and Beverly D’Angelo.

Written and directed by Castille Landon (After Everything), Summer Camp is about Nora (Keaton), Ginny (Bates) and Mary (Woodard), who have been "best friends since being inseparable at summer camp," per a synopsis.

"As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others excitedly."

Also a producer on the movie, Keaton, 78, tells PEOPLE that the "scariest" scene she had for the film involved river rafting. "The complete terror on my face says it all. I was nervous in the water and very anxious."

She adds of her costars, "Any scene with the three of us together was full of laughter and was the most fun. Both Alfre and Kathy are such kind, warm and wonderful women."

Alex Saks, who previously produced Book Club, will also be producing the upcoming movie. Roadside Attractions has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the upcoming comedy “Summer Camp,” starring Diane Keaton, Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard. The film is set for release on May 31.

The rest of the ensemble cast includes Eugene Levy, Beverly D’Angelo, Dennis Haysbert, Nicole Richie and Josh Peck.

Written and directed by Castille Landon, the official description for the film reads, “‘Summer Camp’ tells the story of Nora (Keaton), Ginny (Bates), and Mary (Woodard), who have been best friends since being inseparable at summer camp. As the years have passed, they’ve seen each other less and less, so when the chance to reunite for a summer camp reunion arises, they all take it, some begrudgingly and others excitedly. Landon also made a statement about his forthcoming film.

Howard Cohen negotiated the deal with UTA Film Independent and CAA Media Finance on behalf of the filmmakers.
