Why Sequels Are (mostly) Bad

i will talk about the alien franchise and its sequels, especially alien 3. Also on the debate on if Predator 2 is good or not. There's a lot of reasons why these films arent good or have a few reasons why i dont personally like them. some of the sequels i mention are so predictable or really safe. Like aliens is a really safe film with no real surprises. does it expand the lore? yes but do i care about it? no. and the reason why is because theres so many questions made in alien which is a perfect film and they focus on the answers to some questions which are cool but the characters and plot isnt crazy. but should it be idk.
