There are No Tryouts on Team Jesus

"No Tryouts?"

All of us have at one time or another, tried out for a team, auditioned to be a part of a performing arts group, or applied for a job. In all of these situations and others similar to them, we had to show that we could perform at a level for us to be accepted into the team, group, or organization. This is what we are used to.

We bring this sort of thinking to the idea of becoming a Christian. We have to meet certain performance requirements to become a Christian.

However, as we journey with Jesus, we discover that his acceptance criteria are unlike anything we've encountered in the world. He is the one who decides who joins Their team, and His standards are unique. For there are "No Tryouts for Team Jesus."
