Glory Bound is a wonderful modern day hymm written by, The Wailin` Jennys, not to be confused with the country music star, Waylon Jennings. There are so many excellent covers of this song on YouTube. I play it on the mountain banjo, two finger thumb lead and sing the chorus after every verse because I like it so much. Usually it`s sung after every other verse.

Glory Bound - The Wailin` Jennys - lyrics

When I hear that trumpet sound
I will lay my burdens down
I will lay them deep into the ground
Cause when I die I know I`m glory bound

So Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

I'll be wandering far from home
But I won't be looking for to roam
Because I`ll be crossing over that great divide
And in a better home soon I will reside

So Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

When I reach my resting place
I'll look on my makers face
Never more will I have to know
All the loneliness that plagues me so

So Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Now I'm waiting for that train to come
And I know just where it`s coming from
Oh brother can`t you hear it on the track
You know when I board I won't be looking back

So Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
