The close formation flight involving the Airbus A340 was meticulously organized, rehearsed, officially approved, and featured in a display at a significant national event. Both pilots, who are seasoned training captains and skilled aerobatic pilots at airshows, brought a high level of expertise to the flight. The pilot seen from the cockpit previously achieved a world-first at a Cape Town airshow/military expo, performing a formation display with two B737s from SAA Cargo. These pilots are undoubtedly among the most qualified in the world for such a display.
