Ukrainian embassies halted consular services for fighting-age men, placing new pressure on them to go home to fight Russia, The Washington Post reported. Citizen services, like passport renewals, were temporarily suspended as a precursor to a new mobilisation law effective from May 18. The new law will require all men aged 18 to 60 to update their personal information with a local draft office within 60 days. Also, on May 3, the Ukraine Defence Ministry published certain new draft rules for the Ukrainian armed forces. As per the new rules, people with HIV, tuberculosis and cancer, as well as some with substance addictions will be forced to serve in the army.
