Theme: When the pulpits in a land refuse to proclaim the Biblical standards of justice, then the civil government runs off the rails into evil and the society descends into wickedness. The end of that society is near as the Judgment of God will surely fall upon them.

19th In our series the Prophet Micah

I. When the Wicked Rule - Proverbs 29:2; Romans 13:4
* A. There is injustice of every type 
* 1. Wicked rulers refuse to obey God’s Law in their own lives
* 2. They refuse to make God’s Law the standard for justice in their kingdom
* a. Property is not safe as stealing is not punished
* b. No one’s liberty is secure as they allow or even promote kidnapping
* c. Nor is anyone’s life secure as murder runs unchecked and rampant
* d. Such a so called government is nearly useless as it differs little from complete anarchy
* B. The righteous in such a land are filled with sorrow and grief 

II. The Problem of Israel shows us the problem today - Micah 3:8-12
* A. The political rulers of Israel were the direct cause of the grief
* 1. They detest and loath God’s Holy Standard of justice
* 2. They twist the straight standard of what is right
* 3. The ‘justice’ they render is completely corrupt, it is done for a bribe
* B. The wicked politicians are propped up by evil priests and prophets
* 1. Instead of proclaiming God’s Word, they only proclaim what puts money in their pocket
* 2. They tell people what they want to hear, 
* 3. They promise that wickedness will not be punished by a Holy Righteous God
* C. Devastating judgment from God will come because of the wicked politicians and evil priests and prophets
