Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei slammed the US for “forcing” Arab countries to normalise ties with Israel. said Israel’s rapprochement with Arab states will not resolve the crisis in the Middle East. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on May 1. Netanyahu told Blinken that he would not accept an end to the war in Gaza as part of a potential hostage deal, The Times of Israel reported. Meanwhile, far-right minister Orit Strock said Israel should not accept deal with Hamas which throws war goals in "trash" to save hostages. The Gaza Strip is filled with more war debris and rubble than Ukraine, the head of UN demining operations for the Palestinian territory said.
