In 1962, at the age of 7, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen left his native Holland with his parents and brother Alex, to begin a new life in America. Arriving in Pasadena, California, with just a few dollars and a piano to the family’s name, the brothers and their father, Jan, gravitated towards music as they struggled to fit into this new country.

Eventually, Eddie and Alex Van Halen would join forces with singer David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony to form Van Halen in 1973. After the group's struggle to be discovered, they immediately took the musical world by storm upon the release of their debut album, with Eddie himself quickly earning a place as rock's greatest and most influential guitarist since Jimi Hendrix.

This new documentary will take you through this journey from the beginning - Eddie Van Halen's early life, his introduction to guitar at age 12, how he learned to play, the early bands, and the formation and wild success of the Rock Band known as Van Halen.
