Poll Finds Most Taylor Swift conspiracy theorists are also election deniers

A recent poll released on Wednesday revealed that Americans who believe in the conspiracy theory linking Taylor Swift to a Democratic election scheme are also more likely to question the legitimacy of the 2020 election results. The Monmouth University Poll found that nearly three-quarters of those who subscribe to the Swift conspiracy also doubt the authenticity of the 2020 election outcome. Interestingly, 18 percent of the surveyed Americans believe in this theory, with 71 percent of them leaning towards or identifying with the Republican Party. Furthermore, 83 percent of these individuals expressed their inclination to support former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

It's worth noting that 42 percent of those who believe in the Swift theory claimed to have not heard about it prior to being contacted for the poll. This comes in the wake of growing conspiratorial thinking on the right, with some suggesting that the recent Super Bowl was manipulated to favor Swift's boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in order to provide her with a platform to endorse President Joe Biden. Despite these speculations, no such endorsement took place.

Various public figures, including former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and Fox News hosts, have contributed to the discussion around this theory. Meanwhile, there are reports that the Biden campaign is hoping for Swift's endorsement, a move that Trump has labeled as disloyal. The Monmouth University Poll, conducted from Feb. 8-12, involved 902 adults in the United States and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.1 percentage points.
