Student protesters took over and are now occupying Hamilton Hall at Columbia. Scenes of a masked group breaking windows and barricading themselves will cause more people to turn away from, not empathize with, their movement. I don't see any way how Columbia gets out of this mess. The National Guard could help, I suppose, but the university probably wouldn't let them on campus … bad optics, you know. What is the end game here? Israel is not going to call off its war against Hamas because some kids at Columbia cheered on the terrorists.
