Please pray for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officers who were shot in the line of duty this morning. 🙏🏻

DEVELOPING! North Carolina: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police has issued a ‘severe alert’ in east Charlotte Monday after numerous law enforcement officers were struck by gunfire.

An original police call made over the radio on Monday, April 29, indicates at least two officers have been shot and injured during a barricade situation.

“There is an active investigation in the 5000 block of Galway Drive. Steer clear of the area,” CMPD announced on Monday. “Residents stay inside of your homes.”

CMPD said multiple victims have been transported to nearby hospitals in Charlotte and that “gunfire continues at the scene.”
