The theme of the letter overall, is about suffering and persevering. Those who persevere in faith while suffering trials tribulations, persecution will still be full of confidence. Peter is writing to encourage his readers to endure suffering and persecution by giving themselves entirely to GOD. Resting in their faith. The encouragement applies to all believers, followers of Yeshua as well.
It forces our faith to the surface, and purifies us from a life of dependence on ourselves and our solutions or the world’s solutions in the details of life.
