Ride with the Secret Squirrel

From Lee ford we ride up and over the top of the moors to join the B6342 and descend to the Coquet valley and the popular bikers hub of Rothbury to do a special, first ‘Secret Squirrel’ ride of my channel.
On one my previous rides into Rothbury, I noticed a cyclist veer off on the south side of the bridge, and made a mental note to explore it and confirm where I believe this route may rejoin the main B6341 to Otterburn road higher up the valley.
If I’m right, this would cut off a big D shape chunk of the B6341 that is lovely to ride, but frustrating, as overtake spots are few and far between for miles and miles when stuck behind car and truck traffic.
